Getting There

Car
From the center of Amran, head south on the main road (Highway 15) towards Sanaa. After approximately 25 kilometers, take the exit towards Al-Mahwit/Al-Sabeen. Follow the signs for Al-Mahwit, and continue for another 10 kilometers until you see signs for Jebel Benathi. Turn left onto a smaller road leading directly to the base of the mountain. The road may become narrow and rocky, so drive carefully. Parking is available at the base.

Public Transportation
From Amran, take a shared taxi or minibus heading towards Sanaa. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Al-Mahwit, which is about 25 kilometers from Amran. The fare is usually around 300-500 YER (Yemeni Riyals). Once at the junction, you may need to wait for a local taxi to take you to Jebel Benathi. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand, which could be around 1000-1500 YER for the ride to the base of the mountain.

Once you arrive at the base of Jebel Benathi, prepare for a hike to the summit. The trail starts from the parking area. It is advisable to wear sturdy shoes and carry water and snacks, as the hike can be strenuous. The hike to the summit takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
