Car
Starting from Mongu, take the M10 road heading south. The drive to Sioma Falls will take approximately 3 hours and cover about 200 kilometers. Follow the road signs towards Sioma and keep to the M10 as it winds through rural Barotseland. Be cautious of wildlife and livestock crossing the road. Once you reach the Sioma area, look for signs directing you to Sioma Falls, which will be on your left.
Public Transportation (Minibus)
From Mongu, board a minibus heading to Katima Mulilo or Sioma. The fare is usually around 50 ZMW. The journey will take around 3 to 4 hours, depending on stops. Inform the driver that you want to disembark at Sioma Falls. Once you arrive at the main road junction in Sioma, you may need to walk approximately 5 kilometers to reach the falls, or you can negotiate a taxi fare which typically costs around 100 ZMW.
Walking
If you are already in the Sioma area, you can walk to Sioma Falls. From the main road, look for the signs leading to the falls. The walking path may be a bit rugged, so wear sturdy shoes. It’s a pleasant hike of about 5 kilometers, taking around 1 hour. Ensure to bring water and a small snack for the journey.
