Car
If you are driving, start from the nearest major town, Livingstone, which is about 10 km away. Head southeast on Mosi-O-Tunya Road (A8) for approximately 5 km. Continue straight until you reach the junction with the Zambezi Road. Turn left onto Zambezi Road and follow it for about 3 km. You will see signs leading to the Batoka Gorge Hydroelectric Power Station. The trailhead for the Batoka Gorge Trail is located near the power station. There is a parking area available, but be cautious of your belongings.
Public Transportation
To reach Batoka Gorge Trail via public transportation, you can take a minibus from Livingstone to the Batoka Gorge area. These minibuses frequently depart from the Livingstone Bus Station. Inform the driver that you want to go to Batoka Gorge. The fare should be around 10 ZMW (Zambian Kwacha). Once you arrive at the Batoka Gorge Hydroelectric Power Station, you may need to walk approximately 1 km to reach the trailhead. It is advisable to ask locals for directions if you are unsure.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Batoka Gorge, you can walk to the trailhead by following the road signs leading to the Batoka Gorge Hydroelectric Power Station. The walk from the nearest accommodation or viewpoint in the area should take about 20-30 minutes, depending on your starting point. Ensure you have appropriate footwear, as the terrain may be uneven.
