Car
If you are driving from the Kalambo Falls area, take the road heading east towards the town of Chinsali. After approximately 40 kilometers, look for signs directing you to Lumangwe Falls. Turn onto the gravel road leading to the falls, which is roughly 15 kilometers away. Be cautious as the road may have potholes and can be challenging in rainy conditions. Once you reach the Lumangwe Falls entrance, there may be a small parking fee, so keep some Zambian kwacha handy.
Public Transportation
To reach Lumangwe Falls using public transportation, start at Kalambo Falls and take a minibus to Chinsali. The minibus fare is usually around 20 ZMW. Once you arrive in Chinsali, you will need to find a local taxi or a motorbike taxi (known as a 'boda-boda') to take you to Lumangwe Falls. The fare for this leg of the journey should be around 50-100 ZMW, depending on negotiation. Inform the driver of your destination, and they will know the way. Expect the drive from Chinsali to Lumangwe Falls to take about 30 minutes.
Guided Tour
Consider booking a guided tour from a local tour operator. This can be a convenient option as it often includes transportation from your accommodation to Lumangwe Falls. Prices vary but expect to pay between 300 to 600 ZMW per person, depending on the operator and the inclusions such as meals or additional stops.
