  • Walking

    Start at the Gweru city center, specifically near the Gweru Main Post Office. From there, head to the main road, Cecil Avenue, and turn left. Walk along Cecil Avenue until you reach the intersection with 4th Street. Cross the road and continue walking straight. You will come to the Gweru Railway Station, which is a good landmark. Next, proceed to the bus terminus located next to the station. At the bus terminus, look for a minibus heading to Shurugwi. Board the minibus and inform the driver that you want to stop at Gwenoru Dam. The journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you reach the Gwenoru Dam area, it’s advisable to ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to the dam as the exact drop-off might vary.

    If you prefer cycling, start in Gweru city center and head south on Cecil Avenue. Continue cycling until you reach the intersection with 4th Street. Turn right onto 4th Street and follow it until you reach the Gweru Railway Station. From the railway station, you can take the same route as walking to the bus terminus. However, instead of taking a minibus, continue cycling along the main road towards Shurugwi. The road is fairly busy, so be cautious while cycling. After approximately 12 kilometers, you will see signs directing you to Gwenoru Dam. Follow these signs until you reach the dam.
