Great Zimbabwe Tour From Bulawayo

Better alternative to a long return day trip from either Bulawayo or Harare.

We travelled to the Great Zimbabwe site from Bulawayo and spent a night at the Great Zimbabwe hotel adjoining the site, before travelling to Harare the next day. The visit to the Archaeological site was comprehensive and involves a relatively steep climb to the Ruler’s residential complex at the top of a hill. The climb was worth it to see the extent of the complex and views of the ruins of the complex that was used to house the Ruler’s wives (more than 100 wives). Lesley was our guide and driver. He provided excellent commentary during our visit and on the two days we spent with him on this drive. We were so impressed with his skills as a guide we also booked a city walking tour of Harare with him.
