Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, which is Hwange. Head southeast on the A8 highway towards Bulawayo. After about 60 km, take the exit towards the Binga Road (Binga - B). Continue on this road for approximately 30 km until you reach the turnoff to Shangani. The area is well-marked, and you can follow local road signs indicating 'Shangani'. The roads may vary in quality, so ensure your vehicle is in good condition. This journey should take around 1.5 hours in total, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Hwange to Bulawayo. Buses regularly depart from the Hwange bus terminal. The fare is approximately ZWL 200 per person. Upon arriving in Bulawayo, you will need to switch to a local minibus or shared taxi heading towards Shangani. These minibuses can be found at the Bulawayo station, and the fare is around ZWL 100. The minibus ride will take about 45 minutes. Make sure to inform the driver that you are heading to Shangani, as they will drop you off at the nearest point to the location.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, hiring a taxi from either Hwange or Bulawayo is an option. This is more expensive, typically costing between ZWL 1500 to ZWL 2500 for a one-way trip, depending on your negotiation skills and the driver. Taxis can be found at main terminals or booked via local services. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey. The taxi will take you directly to Shangani, which is convenient but may take about 1 to 1.5 hours due to road conditions.
Use Shangani as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
