What to expect
Castillo de Santa Barbara
The Castle of Santa Bárbara was the origin of the Muslim city of Alicante. It has three construction periods and explains the most important events that the city has experienced, from the Muslim conquest to the Spanish Civil War. We will pass through the Puerta de la Santa Faz to reach the "matxo" of the castle (the upper part), and then you will enjoy a drink on one of the most magical terraces in the city.
Casa Carbonell
The meeting point. An iconic building that represents the arrival of the XXth century. Located on Explanada de España, it represents the modernist style of the city and is a building that marked an era in tourism and urban development. From here we will begin our route through the city to discover its most charming corners.
Alicante City Hall
The town hall is the very centre of the city, from where Calle Mayor and the Santa Cruz neighbourhood extend. It is an environment full of life, shops, monuments and restaurants where visitors can delight in the ways of life, urban landscapes and our best products. The town hall was built in the 18th century and houses the measuring point for all heights in Spain.
Basilica of St Mary of Alicante
One of the most iconic views in the city and the old quarter. A baroque church that encapsulates the history of the city and from where we can enjoy fabulous views. The church was part of the city walls and houses an interesting collection of baroque art. Right next door is the museum of contemporary art, from where we will have unique panoramic views of the city.
