What to expect
A church at the traditional place of the tomb of the virgin Mary. The church is cut into the rock and has a form of a cross, with a wide staircase leading down into the church and tomb. The structure is mostly from the Crusaders period.

The Church of Mary Magdalene is an Orthodox Christian church located on the Mount of Olives.Seven gilded onion domes, each topped by a tall Russian Orthodox cross, make the Church of St Mary Magdalene one of Jerusalem's most picturesque sights.
The gate is near the Temple Mount's northern wall. It opens directly into the Muslim Quarter and is the gate closest to the first station of the cross.
St. Anne's Church, Jerusalem
