    My experience with this diving centre was not good overall. There were three people who wanted to dive (two who had never dived before and one experienced). It was me and my son (11 years old) who tried it for the first time. We had an introduction to the theory, and it was absolutely brilliant. Then the instructor took the five of us to the pool so we could practice (2 groups English and Spanish). That was also ok. I didn't manage it, so I couldn't dive in the ocean (ok), but my son was confident, so they said he would go with my sister and the rest of the group. He was a bit nervous that I couldn't even go on the boat with them (everything was already paid for the three of us). What if my sister wasn't there? Do they take children without a legal guardian? Firstly, they get on a boat and go to the place where they will dive. Secondly, experienced people and instructors go into the water, but my son has never done this before, and they asked him to jump just like the people before him.  So my sister tried to calm him down because he didn't know how to do it. Thirdly, they went down without an instructor because he walked away from them. Is that what someone who should teach and show something does? Underwater, my sister realized that no one was taking care of him. It's very dangerous to leave someone unattended, especially a child who has never dived before. My sister showed her nephew to calm down and relax. They went closer to the instructor and showed him to stay with him, and he said ok and swam away. So she took him again and showed him that he had to look at my son and from then on he was with my child. In total, my son only spent 10 minutes. I think that if you take so many inexperienced divers, there should be more instructors. I personally would have panicked underwater, and my child showed that you have to be calm, although I don't think it was safe. At the pool, they offered to take photos in the ocean (cost €20 pp or €30 for two), but the photos from Saturday might be on Monday.  From what I know, the photographer was busy with a few other people, so I'm curious what I'll get. Judging by their approach, I wouldn't be surprised if we got just one photo. There were supposed to be videos and photos. I just received a video and photos. Unfortunately, no video or photos of my child underwater only fishes. I think it was a waste of money.

    My sons had a fantastic first diving experience. Davi is a fun and enthusiastic instructor who does his job very professionally and seriously. So they were in trusted hands. Don't forget to also have photos and videos taken by Jorge, then you will have a nice memory. All in all, definitely highly recommended!

    I booked this for myself and my 2 adult sons. The cost was very reasonable and easy to to do. We had theory lesson then a dive off of the beach. In the afternoon we had a dive from town out to a wreck. The whole experience was fantastic, the dive instructor Eric was fantastic and made us feel safe at all times. Make sure you book the video and photo guy Jorge it is well worth the money.

    I booked a scuba dive trip as a novice for €99, only having done snorkelling before, and the Cabo Verde Diving centre was next to my hotel (TUI Blue Cabo Verde). I found the staff really helpful and friendly and I was able to book onto a session the next day. It turns out that I was the only one on the session, and so I had one to one training with my instructor, Stef, who was very encouraging and gave clear instruction and training. We had some time going over theory in the dive school building, before getting equipment and going to a nearby pool to do some drills and get used to swimming underwater. Then in the afternoon we were taken to nearby Santa Maria where we went out for our dive. The conditions on the day determine the location of the dive and as it was quite blustery we went to the nearby coral reef and onto a shipwreck. We were underwater for almost an hour, and it was amazing. We saw thousands of fish as well as some sharks, stingrays and a turtle! Stef was a fantastic instructor and guide, and the whole team were excellent. I paid an extra €20 to have someone film the trip, so I didn’t have to worry about using my own GoPro as well as remembering everything else. The cameraman, George was excellent, and took plenty of photos and footage, and the next morning, I had a link sent to me with all the pictures and video, as well as little highlights video put together for me. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend the professional and friendly services of Cabo Verde Diving.
