Getting There

Walking
If you are in the main area of Santa Maria, start at the Santa Maria Beach. Head northeast along the beach promenade, enjoying the ocean views. Continue walking until you reach the end of the promenade. From there, turn left onto Rua 15 de Agosto. Keep walking straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Avenida 5 de Julho. Turn right and continue walking for another 5 minutes. The Cabo Verde Diving Aquarium will be on your right, just before you reach the main street.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Santa Maria. Start from the main square (Praça São João) and head towards the beach. Follow the bike path along the beach promenade heading northeast. After about 15 minutes of cycling, you will come to Rua 15 de Agosto. Turn left and continue for about 5 minutes until you reach Avenida 5 de Julho. Turn right; the Cabo Verde Diving Aquarium will be on your right side shortly after.

Find a local taxi by either asking at your hotel or hailing one from the street. Tell the driver you want to go to Cabo Verde Diving Aquarium. They are familiar with the location and can take you there directly. The ride should take about 5-10 minutes from anywhere in central Santa Maria, depending on traffic.
