    Beautiful site(s) to visit, I was expecting just a minibus to take us but it was a full coach with a tour guide pointing out landmarks and giving some history. A wonderful day out and experience to remember.

    With only a few days in beautiful Kefalonia, a half day tour appealed to my partner and me so we could see some sights and be left with plenty of time in the day to explore. From the get go we were able to meet the bus down at their office in the port and also be introduced to our amazing tour guide, Maria. The journey to the caves was filled with narrations around the history of the island and its culture. Once we reached the caves, the heat was quite intense but we had plenty of time to descend into the cool of the cave and see the amazing rock and mineral formations as well as enjoy the cool below. The lake was even more amazing, the line up in the heat can be intense, however Maria did the heavy lifting waiting in line for the group while we were able to check out the shops and refresh on drinks and snacks. The wait to get in was definitely worth it. The boat ride through the lake only goes for 15-20 minutes but it is beautiful to behold. On the way back you have a short stop above the cliffs of Myrtos beach for a photo opp before returning to multiple convenient drop off points back in Argostoli. Thank you Maria and Avalon. My partner and I had an amazing time and would definitely recommend the experience to anyone travelling to this amazing island.

    If you get there early the sun is not in the best position for the cave. The guy rowing your boat expects a tip on top of the 10 Euros per person. I was a little under whelmed, possibly because the drive there was so amazing beautiful! Worth a trip but aviod the days the cruise ships are in. It looks better in the photos. I is just the open cave then another cave around the corner 15 mins max!

    Really good experience, friendly and helpful guide and beautiful scenery. The queues for Melissani Lake are quite long but the guide stays in the queue for you to join later which is helpful when you have young children.

    The caves were absolutely amazing and definitely worth seeing however it would have been cheaper to hire a car and go do this experience on your own as the tickets for both caves were €13 each and was charged £100 for a 5 hour experience most of which was on an uncomfortably hot bus with no windows. Only got 10 mins in one of the caves and to walk up 200 stairs twice in that time was abit of a rush and didn't feel that we could enjoy what we was seeing as was having to rush to get back to the meeting point. Overall the caves were amazing but just do the day by yourselves and take your time
