Our first stop in the Scottish Borders and once a royal burgh. View one of four great abbeys established in the Scottish Borders in the 1100s. Built over more than 70 years, Jedburgh Abbey is striking for its unusual mix of Romanesque and early Gothic architecture. You'll have time to use the restrooms and grab a coffee at a local Café.

Time for a photo on the Anglo-Scottish border. Two stones on either side of the road mark the passage between countries and the location provides stunning views across the Cheviot Hills.

Just a short walk from Steel Rigg Car Park you can see the Hadrian's Wall snaking up and along the crags, with the lake of Crag Lough in the distance. Crag Lough was formed by glaciers in the last Ice Age and is one of the four Roman Wall Loughs
