Car
If you're traveling by car, begin by navigating to Hexham. From the center of Hexham, head southwest on the A69 towards Carlisle. After about 5 miles, take the exit towards the B6318. Continue on the B6318 for approximately 2 miles. You'll see the sign for Vindolanda on your left. The entrance is well-marked, and there is ample parking available on-site.

Public Transportation
To reach Vindolanda via public transport, take a train to Hexham. From Hexham Railway Station, exit onto Station Road and walk to the bus stop. Take the AD122 bus towards Haltwhistle. After about 15 minutes, get off at the stop for Vindolanda. The museum is a short walk from the bus stop, just follow the signs along the pathway leading to the site.

Walking
If you're staying in Hexham and prefer to walk, head southwest from the town center towards the A69. Cross the road and follow the B6318 for about 2 miles. Keep an eye out for the Vindolanda signage along the way, which will guide you to the entrance. It’s a scenic walk through the countryside, but make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
