    Aiko was a wonderful host! She was very kind and fun to talk to! On our half day, we went first to Meiji shrine in Shibuya, which was gorgeous! The information Aiko gave us about the history of the sake barrels and wine barrels on the way in, as well as the Torii gate being a gift from Taiwan, was very interesting! I would have liked just a bit more time there to look around. We also saw a ton of neat stuff on the bus on the way to the Imperial Palace, which was very neat. The statue of the samurai was interesting, and Aiko told us the meaning behind the horse's position on the statue (that it has one leg up because the samurai lost the battle, but did not die). The imperial palace was so pretty with the bridges and moat in front. Having said that, since we couldn't get close, I feel like we could have spent less time here and more at Meiji Shrine. Finally, we went to grab some matcha! I liked the fact that they had a variety of matcha items to choose from, and the matcha place was very close to the Senso-Ji temple, where I purified, prayed, and collected yet another goshuin. The tour description was very clear that we begin in Shibuya and end at Senso-Ji temple, which was great for my goshuin collecting. However, I did wish that they had had information in the description about having a gluten free lunch available. I may have booked the full-day tour if I had known that I would have been able to eat, as being celiac in Japan is such a challenge. Having said that, I'm not sure the half day tour was QUITE worth the price I paid, even though it WAS a good tour. Overall, Aiko was a great tour guide and I would recommend this tour as a great sampling of some of the great sites in Tokyo!
