    We had the opportunity to learn about the history and spirit of tea ceremony in a beautiful tea room. While enjoying the matcha prepared by the teacher, We also had the wonderful experience of making matcha myself. When I visit Kanazawa again, I definitely want to make a reservation. Thank you so much!!

    The explanation, with the tea ceremony’s history, roles, and what the movements in creating a cup of tea, or picking up a cha bowl was excellent. Fun too was trying one’s hand at creating a foamy version yourself. That it was in English was also a plus. The sensei was excellent. I recommend it if you are at all curious about this very Japanese tradition.

    兼六園を散策し、茶道体験も参加して、心も体もスッキリしました。茶道体験は専用の部屋で、お茶と和菓子を2種類ずついただきました！女将さんの説明が丁寧で分かり易かったです。茶道体験後の兼六亭さんのランチも美味しかったです！

    This session was beyond learning how to make a good proper matcha tea- it was learning about the culture that goes behind it and every step that occupies it. It was a very unique experience that made us all appreciate the Japanese tea ceremony so much more. It’s accompanied by an English speaking guide which made a world of a difference. If u are around the area, do try to go for it !

After that, begin the tea ceremony with a demonstration from the master on how to make tea. Listen to the instructions on how to use the tea utensils, so you can participate in the ceremony without problems. Next, try to make the tea by yourself, and then drink it. Eat some traditional wagashi from a famous confectioner. Important information Know before you go ・Our place is in Kenrokuen Garden. An entrance fee to Kenrokuen Garden is required separately. This ticket does not include it. ・Please be punctual. If you arrive more than 10 min late, your reservation will be canceled. ・If you need translation services, please make a PRIVATE reservation (email us) to avoid disturbing others. ・Participants must be 7 years or older, as the event is held with other groups, and we aim to keep it quiet and enjoyable.
