After being dazzled by an incredible “treasure church” we'll start to descend towards Chiado, the famous cultural and literary district, and also, the most vivid shopping area since the 19th century. At any time of the day you’ll find here a lively cosmopolitan ambience, where people like to meet just for a coffee, shopping or dinner before a night out. It was already like that during the Belle Époque period, as this was the theatre district, with the most nice shops, clubs and cafés where writers, intellectuals and artists use to meet and get inspiration. That was the case of the wonderful poet Fernando Pessoa.
