GoCar GPS Guided Tours
Beach & Shopping This 3 hour tour is specially designed to give you time to enjoy a stop at the beach, a romp round Barcelona's largest mall or both! You pick up the car from our central location, by the Arc de Triomf (metro red line 1) and after a safety video, you will be on your way! The first part of the route takes in the world famous Sagrada Familia by local genius Antoni Gaudi, the spectacular Passeig de Gracia and the ever lively Las Ramblas, with its artisans, street performers and the mouth-watering Boqueria market, From the hustle and bustle of the Gothic Quarter you turn by the iconic Columbus Column and from here we spend the rest of the tour by Mediterranean Sea. Firstly you pass through Port Vell, the historic harbour which made Barcelona one of the busiest trading ports in the world. The big square-square riggers and battle galleons are long gone, to be replaced by the super yachts of the mega-rich. Next up the GPS leads you through the fabulous Barceloneta. It remains today the center of the local fishing industry and as you pass by the narrow streets, the smells from the tapas bars and seafood restaurants fill the air. Now we hit the beaches proper. For the next 30 minutes (except a quick scoot around the Olympic Port) you have all of Barcelona's coastal options to choose from. Stop and join the 'cool' set on Somorrostro beach, grab an ice-cream from a Chiringuito on Bogatell Beach, whip out your bits on Mar Bella beach or just chill-out, away from the crowds on Llevant beach. The choice is yours. Just before you reach the Besos River, you arrive in Barcelona's newest 'barrio', Diagonal Mar. Easily recognisable by the iconic Telfonica Tower and striking Museu Blau buildings, this is also home for the fabulous Diagonal Mar shopping mall. Loads of parking, loads of shops, loads of restaurants, what more could you want on a shopping tour! It here that our tour turns for home and although never far from the sea, we bring you back through the old industrial heart of Barcelona, Pole Nou. Although maintaining many of the old warehouses and chimneys, it is now the city's tech and design hub and a magnet to creative souls from all over the world. The last section turns inland and a return to our shop in front of the Parc Ciutadella.
