This wadi is worth a trip: You start with a short boat trip (1 OMR for both ways)l
Scenery rocks and the river. Cause we didn't have enough time (not so good planning from our side), we only went in for 20 minutes, took a nice swim into the cristal clear water and went back to and with the boat.
You don't need a guide because there are lots of people on the same track.
This would be a place to go back to in Oman and explore further!

The journey begins with a serene boat ride followed by a scenic hike through rocky trails and shaded date palms, where the views grow more mesmerizing with every step.
At the heart of Wadi Al Shab lies its ultimate reward—crystal-clear emerald pools that invite you to swim through narrow pathways. The sunlight dances off the water, creating a dreamy, ethereal atmosphere that feels like stepping into another world. It’s a place where time slows down, and the beauty of nature takes over, leaving you refreshed and in awe.
A must-visit oasis that truly captures the magic of Oman! Highly recommend going with a local guide as the terrain is highly uneven / slippery boulders and not easy to navigate at some spots.

1. Hiking shoes / shoes with good grip- don’t compromise on this
2.Swim wear beneath your clothes for enjoying the pools/ water shoes as the boulders in the pool are slippery
3. Go pro/ water proof action cam
4. Sunscreen/ cap/ sunglasses/Towel
5. Snacks/water
6. Rent Life jacket at the boat jetty to wade through the deeper pools

Best hike ever. Enjoyed swimming in the natural pools and scenery was majestic. We arrived at ~9am and it wasn't too crowded. When we did the return the crowds were large and the parking area was packed. If I were to do it again, I would pack a lunch and arrive even earlier to have even less crowds.

Been here for the first time and if you are heading towards sur or coming back then do not miss this hidden gem which is best place for tourists to visit. For 1 OMR ( Per Person) you get return boat ride with exploring the trail with hiking and clean clear water plus you can also have an hotel booked their if you want. A very long walk for hitch hikers especially in winters.

This place is fabulous. The breathtaking scenery in itself is worth the effort of getting here, and the hike and swim to the hidden waterfall and cave just adds to it. We went with Abdullah (Oman_Raw_Explorer +968 94141616), who was a great tour guide, took lots of great video and photos so we could enjoy the moment, and provided us with authentic refreshments and lunch. Highly recommended.
