What to expect
Parc Monceau
We will walk through the park, see ancient colonnade, a bridge, a pyramid, amazing trees. And walk around the parc, passing Hotel Menier, Pagoda of Mr. Loo and hôtel particulier of Camondo. Guide will talk about it.
Statue d'Haussmann
We will stand still at the statue of Baron Haussmann, the man who changed the view of Paris forever. Our tour will go through the heart of Haussmannian Paris. including the typical apartment blocks and wide boulevards.
Saint-Augustin Church
We will enter the Saint-Augustin Church. A church that has been build in the era of the tour (1860). (By request we can make a detour to pass the location where writer Marcel Proust has lived and written his masterpiece A La Recherche de Temps Perdu.)
Gare St. Lazare
We will pass the back side of Gare Saint-Lazare. This is one of the main train station of Paris. Railroad is an important story of this part and period of Paris. The industrialization made many entrepreneurs rich. Mostly they were living exactly in the neighborhood of this walking tour. In front of the station we see a remarkable house: of Le Roi de la Bière, including a restaurant of McDonald!
Printemps
We end the tour with a typical phenomenon of the 19th century: les Grand Magasins (The Great Department Stores). We pass Printemps and the guide invite you to a marvellous climax inside Galerie Lafayette!
