As an SF local, I learned so much more about my city. Rick does a fantastic job of guiding his participants through many aspects of both the physical architecture and history behind a certain building. Rick is very passionate about the history and has a fine attention to detail. He suggested one should view a building from several angles, and at different times of the day. That's something I'll always take with me now. I would love to take another tour with Rick.

The second tour I’ve taken with Rick (some 8 years apart) and it was as good, if not better, than I remembered. This is a great way to use as an intro to being in the SF city area and really influences how you take in the city when walking around afterwards. Would recommend this tour to anyone who will listen - thoroughly enjoyable 😊

Rick puts on a terrific tour - instructive, entertaining, and eye-opening. We had a terrific time. Even as locals, we learned a lot about the history and architecture of this part of the city.

I am local to the Bay Area, and out of habit, end up in the same places in SF. The tour with Rick has stirred a renewed interest in me to rediscover the city. He uncovers a mix of past and current points of interest many of us would miss. Like clues on a scavenger hunt, he ties together all that makes SF unique, including its endearing quirks :-) I would recommend Rick's tour to anyone, especially locals who want to hear about their city from someone who continues to learn about SF's architecture and beyond.

The tour was excellent!! Rick, our tour guide was so knowledgeable and shared so much information with us. You can tell that he is so passionate about what he does. We learned SO much!!!

Rick is an incredible tour guide who is both knowledgeable and personable. He was so ready to answer any of our questions, had visuals of what the buildings we were looking at looked like back when they were built and provided us more information after the tour. This is a great tour to do for people of all capabilities since Rick is mindful of where the group meets, accessibility and keeps the group together at all times being mindful of everyone’s agility. I would encourage anyone living in the Bay Area to take this tour since there is so much that is missed. As Rick said “just look up” — there is a whole world we are missing.

The tour is very organized and thought out to provide enlightening information in a short period of time, with minimal walking. Rick is a very good speaker, clear and easy to understand, and provides visual aids such as historic photos and maps to show changes in the urban environment. He is non-biased as to architectural style and evaluated quality of the work and it’s contribution to meaningful design of its period. Rick is informed on current SF news of changes that affect the existing urban area or upcoming development in the city. There was an opportunity for a restroom break about midway through the tour.
