Sapporo Beer Museum from Otaru

The Sapporo Beer Museum is located in Sapporo Garden Park and is the only museum in Japan dedicated to beer. This store, specializing in music boxes, is housed in a building built during the Meiji era (1868-1912). At the entrance, you will be greeted by a steam clock, which serves as the symbol of the store. These music boxes come in a wide range of designs and materials, including jewelry boxes, stuffed animals, wall hangings, ceramics, and other distinctive items.

Otaru Kihin Kan (former Aoyama's villa), a registered tangible cultural property of Japan, has been known as a luxurious and magnificent mansion since its time. Masakichi Aoyama, the second generation of the Aoyama family who made a huge fortune from herring fishing, built this villa with his daughter, Masae, over a period of six and a half years. The building materials, such as cypress, zelkova, ebony, cedar, and Yakusugi, which the master carpenter collected with great care, Shunkei lacquer corridors and pillars, and stairs made of tamo wood are all luxurious in the living space.
