The start of our tour is the old Roman forum. This is the place where the city as we know it today was founded more than 2000 years ago. In addition to the remains of the old forum, there are St. Donat church from the 9th century and St. Maria church from 11th century. This place was the centre of the city through centuries.

It is on the UNESCO Heritage Site list together with fortification walls and you will see why the Ottomans never managed to conquer Zadar, despite trying few times. The monument is also nicely decorated and was considered to be too expensive by many Venetians at the time of built.
