George's professionalism and genuine kindness shone through again on our second day, making the experience truly special.
Our journey took us through charming villages to the Sfendoni Cave, a truly stunning natural wonder. From there, we climbed higher into the mountains, reaching a traditional shepherd’s shelter. After a few days by the beach, this wild and mesmerizing landscape felt like a completely different side of Crete; one that slowly, beautifully seeps into you. The kids absolutely loved every moment with the animals, watching goats being milked, picking fresh vegetables, and even helping make traditional cheese and pies.
Lunch was a real highlight: antikristo (roasted lamb) and local delicacies, all served with homemade wine. It was a true feast of authentic Cretan flavors!
It was a perfect, hands-on day for the whole family that we'll cherish forever!

We had an outstanding time with our host George! He struck the perfect balance—professional, reliable, and at the same time approachable and easygoing. On the drive to Chania, he kept us entertained with stories, sharp insights, and even quick-fire quizzes that turned the journey into part of the adventure.
The highlight, though, was Chania itself. The Old Town is simply mesmerizing—its Venetian harbor, the maze of narrow cobblestone streets, the blend of Venetian and Ottoman architecture—it all felt like stepping into a living history book. And to top it off, we had an unforgettable lunch in a traditional taverna that hit the spot.

From the very start, the day unfolded with ease; every stop felt thoughtful and perfectly timed. Along the drive, we heard just the right amount of stories and insights about Crete, always delivered in a way that made the island come alive without ever feeling overwhelming. Wandering through Chania’s Old Town was a joy, full of hidden corners and history, and the lunch right by the Venetian Harbor was simply unforgettable. The whole experience felt smooth, personal, and genuine. The kind of day that becomes the highlight of a vacation.

What a fantastic day we had with George. As we were arriving by cruise ship, he called the day before to confirm which port we were arriving in. As it turned out, I had booked the tour from the wrong port and George drove two hours to arrange an alternate tour for us. We started the day with an Olive oil tasting at Pallada. We learned so much about olive oil from harvesting to the different varieties. From there we went to a 16th century monastery which was lovely and so great to see. While driving George shared lots of information about the history of the island and stopped at many beautiful viewpoints along the way. We ended the day with a visit to Chania’s old town where we strolled along the waterfront and explored the hidden streets. We stopped at a local taverna where we had a delicious lunch offering lots of authentic dishes. Our group would not hesitate to recommend George for a guided, personalized tour of this lovely island.
