We have been to Victor Bodden’s Animal Sanctuary twice! We loved it so much we came back. The van picks you up at the port and will take you anywhere on the island. We made a stop at the Stone Castle where they make hand made carvings on shells, cameos and lamps, it was beautiful! We then headed to the sanctuary where we got time with a monkey and some beautiful birds on our heads. Then we headed to the sloth 🦥 area! They are so sweet and used to humans they snuggle for a bit and we got sone great pictures! There is more to do there like Ziplines and ATV’s but we didn’t do that. We wanted to do some more sightseeing. We went to Mayak Chocolate and learned how they make it and got some samples! We then took a drive across town to the Roatán Rum factory. After taste tests we chose our favorite and drove to see the beach. 🏖️ George then dropped us back off at the port so we could do some more shopping and head back to the ship. It was awesome!

Overall a fantastic day for our party of 8, we did the zipline, sloth experience and West Bay Beach trip. First, I booked this for our group almost a year ago, and the communication was fantastic from start to finish. Very thorough instructions and expectations were sent multiple times. The tour group was easy to find when exiting the cruise port. This is a well run operation. The zipline was extensive and the views were amazing. Two of our party did not do the zipline and they had a great spot to sit and wait where they could see the rest of us zipping through the jungle with outstanding guides, felt very safe the entire time. Loved the sloth experience, and we had plenty of time with the various animals and never felt rushed even on such a busy day. I would absolutely return and would like to do the ATV experience also. The beach part was not our cup of tea. While the resort we were delivered to was beautiful, it was SO crowded and there was only one very expensive restaurant to choose from that was easily accessible. My older parents were with us and it wasn’t great for them in terms of being able to easily navigate, and there were tons of people constantly approaching us asking us to buy various things. There was no option of food and drink on the beach, so that was a bit of a bummer. We were hot, hungry and just wanting to get back to the ship at this point. Was super nervous about getting back to the ship in time, and the driver arrived back to pick us up right on time, so no worries there! As I said, overall was a great day, just know what you are getting if you choose the beach package.

We were on a cruise and booked a private guide. Our guide Norma was AMAZING!! She was so much fun and such a sweetheart! She took us to see the Monkeys and sloths and we took the ATV tour also. After we went shopping and out to lunch. If you’re in the area request Norma!! She knew the area very well! Excellent driver and guide! Thanks Norma!

We had a great experience with the amazing wildlife! Denry was an incredible guide around the island! We felt safe and learned so much about Roatan! I definitely recommend Victor Bodden Tours, and ask for Denry!!!

As you exit your ship, look for our Kiosk in the Independent Tours area past the Taxis. You'll see our company name signs and uniformed employees at Kiosk #1 at the port's Independent Tours area. One of our representatives will greet you at the kiosk, locate your name on our list and introduce you to your guide for the day.

ISLA TROPICALE CRUISE CENTER (Carnival, Princess, HAL, AIDA, P&O, Marella, etc.):
As you exit your ship, customers on Local Independent Tours will be required by Carnival Corporation to exit their dock area through the gates and walk on the sidewalk over the hill to the main road. Once outside the gates and over the hill, look for our representatives holding our Company Name signs. One of our representatives will greet you, locate your name on our list and introduce you to your guide for the day. At the end of your tour day, we are able to drop you off to the entrance of the dock...so you will only have to do this long walk one-way, when you first arrive.

What to expect

You will be provided with a wristband for a reserved beach chair, restroom and fresh-water shower access at one of our partner resorts on West Bay Beach. Our partner resorts, which vary based on resort occupancy/availability, currently include Henry Morgan s Resort, Bananarama Beach Resort & Foster s West Bay Beach Resort. After a nice time on the beach, which is based on your ship s scheduled time-in-port, you will be returned to your ship with the others that are traveling with you. This is a group excursion, and you will be in a van or bus with others from your ship on this day

Zip over a variety of Roatan's terrains...from jungle trees & hilltops to open pastures & sugar cane farms. There are no height restrictions for the zipline, minimum age is 2 years old (we've had guests from 2 to 97-years-old!) The weight limit for the zipline is 295 pounds. Guests unable to fit into the zipline harness (due to weight, thigh or waist size) will be switched to "Skip-the-Zip" pricing. Zipline Course includes two Suspension Bridges and 11 Ziplines (Up to 1020' Long / 300' High)
