In the afternoon, we ventured into the heart of Harar for some shopping. Our destination was Hilina Shop, a local store known for its traditional crafts and clothing. I wanted to find something special for Lila, a memento of our trip that she could cherish forever. The shop was a treasure trove of colorful textiles, intricate jewelry, and handcrafted items. Lila was immediately drawn to a beautiful, hand-woven dress, and I knew it was the perfect choice. I also picked up a few souvenirs for friends and family back in Munich, wanting to share a piece of Harar with them. I remember Hilina Belete is one of the few entrepreneurs in Ethiopia who have managed to take a family business to the next level, making it a successful and strong contender in the food industry, so it was a pleasure to support her business.
