As my Ghanaian adventure draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible experiences I've had in Elmina. From exploring historic sites to savoring local cuisine, this trip has been a journey of discovery and connection. Today, I planned to soak in the last moments, embracing the vibrant culture and natural beauty of this coastal town.

Our final day began with a delightful breakfast at Mabel's Table. The warm and inviting atmosphere was the perfect setting to enjoy authentic Ghanaian cuisine. I savored every bite, knowing it would be one of my last tastes of local flavors for a while. After breakfast, we decided to visit Akotokyir Magic Park. This hidden gem is located in Cape Coast, not far from Elmina, and promised a tranquil retreat from the bustling city. As we entered, we were greeted by colorful flora and artistic installations that showcased the creativity and culture of the local community. In the afternoon, we took some time to shop for souvenirs at Wan Dada Collections. This local shop offered a variety of handcrafted items, perfect for remembering our trip to Ghana. I found a beautiful piece of Kente cloth, a traditional Ghanaian textile, to bring home to Olivia. It was a meaningful way to support local artisans and take a piece of Ghanaian culture back with me to Toronto. The shop owner was incredibly friendly and shared stories about the history and significance of the items she sold. It was more than just a shopping experience; it was a cultural exchange.

As the day drew to a close, we made our way to Lemon Beach Restaurant for our final dinner in Elmina. The menu featured a delightful selection of fresh seafood, expertly prepared to highlight the rich flavors of local ingredients. Tomorrow, we will be heading back to Accra to prepare for our flight back to Toronto. I'm looking forward to seeing Olivia and sharing all of my stories with her. But a part of me will always remain in Elmina, a town that has touched my soul and opened my eyes to the beauty and complexity of the world.
