Today was all about soaking in the serene atmosphere of Chefchaouen, a city that has completely captured my heart. Daniel and I embraced the laid-back vibes, exploring tranquil parks, savoring local flavors, and witnessing a sunset that painted the sky with unforgettable colors. It's hard to believe this is our penultimate day here; time really does fly when you're surrounded by such beauty.

Our day began with a delightful breakfast at MIDO'S. The owner was incredibly friendly, and it felt like we were starting our day with family. I ordered a freshly squeezed orange juice and a traditional Moroccan pancake, while Daniel opted for a hearty omelet. The food was delicious, and the warm hospitality made it even better. It's these little moments of connection that truly make a trip memorable.

With our bellies full, we set out to explore Feddan Park. It was a pleasant walk, and the park itself offered a welcome escape from the bustling medina. We strolled along the paved pathways, admiring the colorful flowers and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. I took some time to sketch in my journal, capturing the essence of the park's tranquility. Daniel, ever the people-watcher, enjoyed observing the locals and tourists alike, all enjoying the simple pleasure of a sunny afternoon.

Next on our itinerary was Plaza Mohammed V. This central hub was even more vibrant than Feddan Park, bustling with activity. Children played, families gathered, and vendors sold their wares. We found a shaded bench and simply watched the world go by, soaking in the sights and sounds of Chefchaouen. The plaza is beautifully landscaped, and the surrounding blue buildings create a stunning backdrop. It's a perfect spot to unwind and feel the pulse of the city.

For lunch, we ventured to Traditional kitchen. This cozy restaurant came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. We shared a flavorful tagine and some freshly baked bread, savoring every bite. The aroma of spices filled the air, and the taste was simply divine. It was the perfect culinary experience, offering a true taste of Moroccan tradition.

As the afternoon waned, we decided to seek out the famed Sunset at sunset bar. After a bit of a walk, we found this hidden gem and secured a spot with a view. The bar was indeed captivating, with the town's blue buildings creating a picturesque backdrop. We ordered some refreshing drinks and waited for the main event. And what a spectacle it was! The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky with vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple. It was a magical moment, one that Daniel and I will cherish forever.

For our final dinner in Chefchaouen (well, almost!), we chose Restaurant Dar El Salam. This charming eatery offered a warm and inviting atmosphere, adorned with beautiful Moroccan decor. We opted for a table on the terrace, overlooking the bustling streets. The menu was filled with traditional dishes, and we decided to try the couscous, a Moroccan staple. It was delicious, and the friendly service made the experience even more enjoyable.

As we walked back to Hotel Casa Miguel, hand in hand, I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. Today was a perfect blend of relaxation, exploration, and cultural immersion. Chefchaouen has a way of slowing down time, allowing you to appreciate the simple things in life. It's a place where you can wander aimlessly, discover hidden gems, and connect with the local culture. I am so grateful for this experience.

Our itinerary includes visits to Hero Eagle and Bab Chaouen, and I'm eager to capture more of this city's unique beauty through my lens. We'll also be indulging in more local cuisine at HERMANOS for breakfast, Restaurant Hamsa for lunch, and Restaurant Jbaria for our farewell dinner. And, of course, we'll be browsing the Chefchaouen copper and lamps shop for a special memento to take home with us.
