My explorations led me through sacred spaces and into the heart of local artistry, creating a tapestry of experiences I'll cherish.

The day began with a simple yet satisfying breakfast at Haytam. The mixed reviews I had seen online didn't deter me; I always prefer to form my own opinions. The traditional Moroccan fare was a delightful start to the day, fueling me for the explorations ahead. Sipping on sweet mint tea, I felt a sense of calm, a perfect prelude to the spiritual journey that awaited.

This allows them to sell their work and retain 100 percent of the proceeds. As someone deeply passionate about community building and sustainable living, I was incredibly inspired by their mission. I spent hours browsing the vibrant displays of rugs, textiles, and crafts, each piece telling a unique story of its creator.

I ended up purchasing a beautiful rug, a piece of art that not only adds warmth to my home but also carries a powerful message of empowerment and cultural preservation. I know Leila, my daughter, will adore it, and it will be a great conversation starter, allowing me to share the story of Fatima and the Anou Cooperative with our friends and family back in Potsdam.

For lunch, I indulged in a delightful meal at Al Andaloussiya Diyafa. The traditional Moroccan house offered panoramic views of Volubilis and the surrounding areas from its furnished terrace. The air-conditioned room provided a welcome respite from the July heat. I savored each bite, appreciating the blend of flavors and spices that make Moroccan cuisine so unique. The staff were incredibly welcoming, making me feel right at home. It was a perfect spot to relax and recharge before continuing my explorations.
