Today was a day of gentle exploration and savoring the simple pleasures of Tilcara. After several days of more strenuous activities, I decided to dedicate today to art, relaxation, and enjoying the local cuisine. It was exactly the kind of day I needed to recharge and fully appreciate the beauty surrounding me.

The morning began with a leisurely breakfast at A La Payla Restaurant. Next on the agenda was a visit to PIEDRAMORA TILCARA, a place I had read about online and was intrigued to see. Püedramora turned out to be a serene and tranquil retreat. It's a unique space that combines natural elements with artistic installations, creating a calming and meditative atmosphere. I spent a few hours simply wandering through the grounds, taking in the views, and enjoying the peace and quiet. There were several spots perfect for meditation, and I took full advantage, practicing some mindfulness and reflecting on my journey so far. It’s amazing how a change of scenery can do wonders for the mind. Being away from my usual Berlin haunts and immersed in the quiet beauty of Tilcara has been incredibly refreshing.

For lunch, I headed to Restaurante Azul, a charming spot known for its regional cuisine. I decided to try one of their traditional dishes, a hearty stew made with local vegetables and llama meat. The restaurant had a lovely, relaxed vibe, and I enjoyed chatting with some of the other diners, exchanging travel stories and tips.

The afternoon was all about relaxation. To cap off the evening, I decided to check out Lucifer lounge Bar. I’m not usually one for late nights, but I wanted to experience Tilcara’s nightlife, even if just for a little while. I sipped on a cocktail, listened to some live music, and soaked in the atmosphere before heading back to my accommodation.

Tomorrow, I plan to hike to Cumbre EL.CONO, TILCARA, a mountain peak that promises stunning panoramic views of the region. I also hope to visit Casa Historica donde se veló al Gral. Lavallle, a historical house with an interesting story.

Today was a reminder that travel isn't just about seeing famous landmarks or ticking off bucket-list items; it's also about taking the time to slow down, connect with the local culture, and appreciate the simple joys of life. I am so grateful for this solo journey and the opportunity to explore the beauty and tranquility of Tilcara.

I'm also starting to think about Christmas. I know it's still November, but living in Berlin, the Christmas spirit is already in the air. Hans and I usually spend Christmas with his family in Germany, but this year, I'm thinking of suggesting a trip back to California to see my parents. It's been a while since I've been home for the holidays, and I miss the warmth of the California sun and the familiar traditions of my family. Plus, I know my mom would love to see me. Maybe I’ll find some inspiration for Christmas presents while visiting the local shop La Jabonera Tilcara tomorrow!
