After breakfast, we made our way to Bab Boujloud, the iconic Blue Gate. It’s more than just an entrance; it’s a statement. From Bab Boujloud, we ventured deeper into the medina, our destination being the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss II. This is one of the holiest shrines in Morocco, dedicated to the founder of Fes. As non-Muslims, we weren’t allowed to enter the inner sanctum, but even from the outside, the sense of reverence was palpable. I watched as devout Moroccans approached with deep respect, their faces etched with devotion. It was a humbling experience, a reminder of the power of faith and tradition. I could feel the spiritual energy of the place, a sense of peace and tranquility that permeated the air.

I sat back, sipping my beer, and watched as the city came alive in the night. Fes is a city that never sleeps, a city that is always full of surprises. And I am grateful for the opportunity to experience it, to immerse myself in its culture, and to create memories that will last a lifetime.
