The morning began with a hearty breakfast at Café Restaurant La Place. I chose a spot on their cozy terrace, the air crisp and clean as the sun began to paint the gorge in hues of gold and ochre. I savored a traditional Moroccan breakfast of msemen, a flaky pancake, drizzled with honey and accompanied by a steaming glass of mint tea. The café buzzed with locals and fellow travelers, all eager to start their day in this stunning locale. It was the perfect way to fuel up for a day of exploration. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. I made a mental note to try more Moroccan mint tea recipes when I returned home to Heidelberg; Hans would love that.

And if time allows, I might even do some shopping at Route todgha gorge.

I feel lucky to have experienced it, even if just for a short time. Back in my room, I brewed a cup of verbena tea, a local specialty I picked up at the market. As I sipped the fragrant brew, I thought of Hans and our cozy evenings in Heidelberg. I smiled, knowing that I would have many stories to share when I returned.
