Our morning began with a hearty breakfast at Dovas Home Cooking in Chorefto. This charming small plates restaurant is known for its authentic Greek cuisine and dedication to fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We enjoyed a selection of traditional dishes, fueling up for our day of exploration. I savored the flavors of fresh vegetables and local cheeses, while Hans enjoyed some grilled meats. It was a perfect start, setting the tone for a day filled with culinary and scenic delights.

After breakfast, we drove up to the Pelion Ski Centre. I know what you're thinking – skiing in October? While there wasn't enough snow for skiing, the views from the top were absolutely breathtaking. The air was crisp and invigorating, and the panoramic vistas of the Aegean Sea and the Pagasetic Gulf were simply mesmerizing. It was fascinating to see a ski resort in a completely different light, without the snow, and still appreciate its beauty and potential for winter adventures. We took some photos, breathed in the fresh mountain air, and imagined what it would be like to ski down those slopes in the heart of winter.
The beauty of Pelion lies in its ability to offer contrasting experiences in a single day, from mountain peaks to serene beaches.
Next on our itinerary was Chorefto Beach, a complete contrast to the mountain setting. The drive down was scenic, winding through lush greenery and traditional villages. As we arrived at Chorefto, the sight of the sparkling Aegean Sea was incredibly inviting. The beach itself is a mix of coarse white sand and multicolored pebbles, with crystal-clear blue water. Despite it being October, the sea was warm enough for a refreshing swim.

We spent a relaxing couple of hours on the beach, soaking up the sun and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. I took a leisurely stroll along the shore, collecting interesting pebbles and shells, while Hans decided to try his hand at snorkeling. The water was so clear that he spotted a variety of marine life, making it a memorable experience. Chorefto Beach is well-equipped with amenities, offering a blend of organized areas with umbrellas and sun loungers, as well as ample space for those seeking a more natural experience.
For lunch, we headed to Sarande Beach Bar Restaurant, located right on the beach. We indulged in some delicious seafood, savoring the flavors of the Mediterranean while enjoying the stunning sea view. The restaurant had a relaxed, beachy vibe, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a leisurely meal after our swim.

In the late afternoon, we decided to explore the local shops in Chorefto. We stumbled upon The Shop Of Nature, a charming store that specializes in natural goods, organic food, and handmade crafts. As someone passionate about sustainable living, I was immediately drawn to the store's commitment to quality and eco-friendliness. We purchased some locally sourced herbs and spices, as well as a beautiful handmade soap as a souvenir. It was a delightful experience, supporting local artisans and discovering unique products that reflect the essence of the region.

As the sun began to set, we made our way to Beach lounge, a cozy bar where we enjoyed some refreshing drinks. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and we chatted with some locals, learning more about the history and culture of Pelion. It was a perfect way to end our day, sipping on cocktails and watching the sky transform into a canvas of vibrant colors.

Finally, for dinner, we drove to Makrinitsa and dined at cardamo OINOMAGEIREIO. This restaurant is known for its Greek cuisine, offering tasty veal, spaghetti, and mushrooms. The cozy atmosphere and modern decor added to the dining experience. Hans enjoyed the house wine, and I savored the orange cake for dessert. It was a memorable meal, celebrating the culinary delights of Pelion.

As we drove back to our accommodation, we reflected on the incredible day we had experienced. From the mountain peaks to the sandy shores, Pelion had truly captured our hearts. The blend of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and culinary delights made it a day we would never forget.
Tomorrow, we plan to explore more of Pelion's scenic viewpoints, including the PelionTrainViewPointOfPinatakes and the Bench with wonderful view. We're also looking forward to trying some local cuisine at To Kima • Seaside Family Restaurant for breakfast, Pagasitikos Restaurant for lunch, and To Katofli tis Ketis for dinner. And of course, we'll be sure to check out Amadryás for some local shopping and Grappa Vino & Aperitivo for an evening drink. Good night!
Pelion continues to surprise and delight at every turn. I am so happy I get to share this experience with Hans.
I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
