The raw beauty of Todra Gorge is something I'll never forget. Today was a testament to the wonders of solo travel, where spontaneity and immersion intertwine to create unforgettable experiences. From the challenging hike through the towering cliffs to the unexpected historical finds and the warm hospitality of the local Berber people, Todra Gorge has already carved a special place in my heart.

My second day in Todra Gorge began with the sun casting a golden hue over the towering cliffs. I grabbed a quick breakfast at Café Restaurant AL-HILAL. I opted for some traditional Moroccan pancakes, which gave me the energy I needed for the day ahead. The cafe was bustling with locals and tourists alike, all eager to start their day in this incredible location.

With a full stomach and a sense of anticipation, I set off for the Todra Gorge Hike. The plan was to tackle the popular loop trail, a moderate 11-kilometer trek that promised stunning views and a chance to stretch my legs. Packing essentials like my camera, hiking boots, and plenty of water, I felt ready to embrace the challenge. I was also kicking myself for forgetting my travel guidebook and reusable water bottle – a rookie mistake! I definitely need to remember those for future adventures. The June heat was already building, so I made sure to apply sunscreen and don my trusty hat.

I opted for a traditional tagine, savoring the aromatic spices and tender meat. The restaurant also had international options, but I wanted to fully immerse myself in the local cuisine. As I ate, I enjoyed the gentle breeze and the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

With my energy restored, I decided to explore the town a bit more. I stumbled upon Cafe perla, a local bar known for its relaxed vibe. I ordered the moussaka and was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I struck up a conversation with a fellow traveler, sharing stories and tips about our respective adventures.

Before heading back to my lodging, I took one last stroll through the gorge. The cliffs were now bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun, creating a magical and unforgettable scene. I reflected on the day’s adventures, feeling grateful for the opportunity to experience this incredible place.

Tomorrow, I plan to explore TinGhir and take in the Tinghir Oasis Panorama Overview. I'm eager to see more of this region and learn more about its history and culture. For breakfast, I'm thinking of trying Venice café, and for lunch, Restaurant SIMPLE sounds promising. Dinner will be at Restaurant Tifaoute. I might also check out Noor boutique for some local crafts.
