Today was a whirlwind of adrenaline and flavor, a perfect blend of adventure and culinary exploration that truly captured the spirit of Marrakech. From tearing through the desert landscape on a quad bike to savoring the rich tastes of Moroccan cuisine, it was a day to remember. Join me as I recount every moment of this thrilling Tuesday!

The day began, as most do here at the TUI BLUE Medina Gardens – Adults Only – All Inclusive, with a leisurely breakfast. The hotel's buffet is always a delightful spread, offering everything from fresh pastries to local fruits. Fuelled up and ready for action, my friends and I eagerly anticipated our quad biking adventure. We chose Marrakech Quad Biking for what promised to be an unforgettable morning.

We were picked up promptly and whisked away to the Palmeraie Quad & Buggy Tours - Marrakech, a vast palm oasis just outside Marrakech. The landscape shifted dramatically from the bustling city streets to a serene expanse of palm trees and sandy terrain. I could already feel the excitement building. After a quick safety briefing and a crash course on operating the quad bikes, we were off! The engines roared to life, and we navigated through the dunes, the wind whipping through our hair. It was exhilarating!

The Palmeraie offered a stunning backdrop for our adventure. The contrast of the green palm trees against the ochre-colored earth was simply breathtaking. We sped through the open spaces, kicking up dust and feeling the rush of adrenaline. There were a few wobbly moments, especially for those of us less experienced with off-road vehicles, but we all quickly got the hang of it. It was such a fun experience to share with my friends, the laughter and cheers echoing through the desert air.

Adventure is worthwhile.

After an exhilarating couple of hours, we took a break at a traditional Berber tent. We sipped on sweet mint tea, a staple of Moroccan hospitality, and enjoyed some local bread with honey. It was a welcome respite from the sun and a chance to soak in the tranquility of the desert. The Berber hosts were incredibly welcoming, sharing stories about their culture and way of life. It was a humbling experience to connect with them and learn about their traditions.

Back at the hotel, after a refreshing shower to wash off the desert dust, it was time for lunch. We decided to venture into the Medina and try Cuisine De Terroir, a restaurant recommended for its authentic Moroccan dishes and sustainable practices. The restaurant was tucked away in a quiet corner of the Medina, offering a welcome escape from the bustling streets. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with traditional Moroccan décor and a cozy atmosphere.

We started with a selection of Moroccan salads, each bursting with fresh flavors and vibrant colors. The eggplant salad was a particular highlight, smoky and delicious. For our main courses, we opted for a variety of tagines, the quintessential Moroccan dish. I chose the chicken tagine with preserved lemons and olives, a classic combination of sweet and savory. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the preserved lemons added a delightful tang. My friends tried the lamb tagine with prunes and almonds, and the vegetable tagine with couscous, both of which were equally delicious. We finished our meal with a traditional Moroccan pastry, a sweet and flaky delight.

As the sun began to set, we made our way to Le Bistro Arabe - Moroccan Jazz Restaurant in Marrakech for dinner, enticed by its reputation as a Moroccan Jazz Restaurant. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, with a blend of Moroccan and French influences. Soft lighting and live jazz music created a sophisticated and romantic atmosphere. We started with some cocktails, enjoying the smooth sounds of the jazz band. For dinner, I opted for the chef's signature dish, the pulled beef with truffle, while my friends chose the lamb tagine and the seafood paella. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The service was impeccable, and the staff were attentive and friendly.

Finally, to cap off the evening, we headed to MY Kechmara, a trendy bar in the Gueliz district. The bar had a cool, urban vibe, with modern décor and a lively atmosphere. We ordered some drinks and enjoyed the music, soaking in the energy of the Marrakech nightlife. It was the perfect way to end a day filled with adventure, culture, and culinary delights.

As I reflect on the day's experiences, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to explore this enchanting city and share its wonders with my friends. I am excited to see what tomorrow brings, knowing that Marrakech will continue to surprise and delight me at every turn. Even though Lena and Sofia are not here with me, I feel them in my heart, and I know they would have loved experiencing all of this alongside me.
