From downtown Huntsville, take Governors Drive east towards Monte Sano Mountain. Follow Governors Drive up the mountain until you reach the intersection with Monte Sano Boulevard. Turn left onto Monte Sano Boulevard and continue for approximately 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Nolen Avenue, and the entrance to Monte Sano State Park will be about one mile ahead. Parking is available within the park for a small fee; $3 for adults and $1 for children and seniors [5]. Limited free parking is available at the Land Trust trailheads on Bankhead Parkway and Monte Sano Boulevard [15].
