Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Cahaba Valley, start by heading northwest on Cahaba Valley Rd toward US-119 N. Turn left onto US-119 N and continue for about 6 miles. Merge onto I-65 N via the ramp to Birmingham. After about 6 miles, take exit 252B for Shades Crest Rd. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Shades Crest Rd S, and turn right onto Shades Crest Rd. Continue for approximately 1.5 miles, and you will arrive at Lover's Leap, located at 586 Shades Crest Rd, Birmingham, AL 35226. There is no admission fee for accessing the site.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Lover's Leap via public transportation, you will need to take a bus from Cahaba Valley to downtown Birmingham, which typically requires transferring at a central hub. Once in downtown Birmingham, you can catch the bus route that services Shades Crest Rd. Be sure to check the local bus schedules for the best connections. Once you arrive at a stop closest to Shades Crest Rd, you may need to walk approximately 0.5 miles to reach Lover's Leap. It's advisable to plan your trip ahead of time as public transportation can take longer than driving.

• Walking

  If you are already in a nearby area and wish to walk, from the nearest bus stop on Shades Crest Rd, head south toward 586 Shades Crest Rd. The walk will take you through a scenic neighborhood, but it is important to note that the path can be steep in spots, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for some elevation changes as you approach Lover's Leap.
