Getting There

  • Driving

    From Montgomery, take I-85 North to Exit 32 (Tuskegee/Franklin). Turn right onto Pleasant Springs Drive (County Rd 50 and 30) and go approximately 2 miles. Turn left onto Franklin Road (County Road 30) and go approximately 3 miles to the end of Franklin Rd. Turn left at the traffic light onto West Montgomery Rd. and then turn left through the Lincoln Gates into Tuskegee campus. The museum is located on University Avenue near the intersection with Booker T. Washington Boulevard. Parking is available in the adjacent Kellogg Center parking deck (fee applies) or in the lot next to The Oaks. From Atlanta, take I-85 South to Exit 38 (Tuskegee/Notasulga). Turn left onto Tuskegee Airmen Blvd (Hwy 81). Stay on this highway for approximately 2 miles through several 90-degree turns and you will end up on North Main Street. Note: All visitors to Tuskegee University must obtain a visitor pass from the Tuskegee University Police Department upon arrival.

    Limited taxi service is available locally. The Macon Russell Community Action Agency provides public transportation in the Tuskegee area, available Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Contact them for specific routes and schedules. Express 85, an airport shuttle, stops at the Kellogg Conference Center on the Tuskegee University campus. From the Kellogg Conference Center, the George Washington Carver Museum is directly behind it. Parking is available in the parking deck behind the Kellogg Center. Note: All visitors to Tuskegee University must obtain a visitor pass from the Tuskegee University Police Department upon arrival.
