    If you're starting from the Cook Museum of Natural Science on Holly Street, head south towards 2nd Avenue NE. Turn left onto 2nd Avenue NE and walk approximately two blocks. The Turtle Trail begins along 2nd Avenue, with the first turtle located a short distance from the intersection. Look for the bronze turtles with their unique accessories displayed in various locations along the street. The trail extends up and down 2nd Avenue, so continue exploring to find all ten turtles.

  • Public Transport

    Decatur has limited public transportation options. The closest public transit hub is the Decatur Transit System (DTS), but it may not directly serve all areas of the city. From the DTS, you may need to walk or take a taxi/rideshare to reach 2nd Avenue. A short taxi or rideshare from the transit hub to the beginning of the Turtle Trail on 2nd Avenue will likely cost between $10-$15.
