Turn left onto Section Street and proceed to the intersection with Scenic Highway 98. Cross carefully at the intersection and follow Scenic Highway 98 south for approximately 1 mile. The Point Clear Promenade will be on your right.

As you stroll, you'll be captivated by the gentle lapping of waves, the salty air, and sailboats gliding across the water. The path is lined with lush greenery, including towering oak trees and vibrant flowers. Benches are strategically placed, inviting visitors to pause, relax, and soak in the panoramic views. The promenade extends north towards the Grand Hotel, passing by 28 historic homes that comprise the Point Clear Historic District, dating back to 1835-1930. Many of these elegant homes feature distinctive rain porches designed to catch the cool bay breezes. From as early as the 1800s, wealthy families from Mobile, New Orleans and across the United States chose to spend their summers in Point Clear, escaping to what was deemed as “good air”. The Grand Hotel, located near the northern end of the promenade, also holds a significant place in history. During World War II, it served as the base of operations for Operation Ivory Soap, a classified military operation that played a vital role in the Pacific Theater.
