Getting There

• Car

  From the main entrance of Monte Sano State Park, head southwest on Monte Sano Blvd. Continue straight for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with Kildare St NW. Turn right onto Kildare St NW. The Historic Lowry House will be on your right at 1205 Kildare St NW, Huntsville, AL 35801. There is no parking fee, but be mindful of street parking regulations.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, start by taking the Huntsville public transit bus from Monte Sano State Park to the nearest bus stop. You will likely need to transfer to Bus Route 11 towards Huntsville. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the stop closest to Kildare St NW. From there, you may need to walk about 10 minutes to reach The Historic Lowry House at 1205 Kildare St NW, Huntsville, AL 35801. Check the local transit schedule for the most accurate timing.

• Bicycle

  For those opting to bike, exit the park and take Monte Sano Blvd heading southwest. Follow the same route as for cars, keeping to the bike lane where available. The ride is approximately 2 miles and should take around 15-20 minutes. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all road safety rules.

• Walking

  If you are staying close to the park entrance and feel like walking, you can take the same route as mentioned for cars. It will take roughly 40-50 minutes to walk the 2 miles to The Historic Lowry House. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated, especially during warmer weather.
