Its original purpose was to enhance connectivity between Shkodër and the town of Drisht, along with other northern settlements, facilitating trade and movement towards Pristina.The bridge is an impressive 108 meters long, 3.4 meters wide, and 12.5 meters high, featuring 13 arches, making it one of the longest Ottoman bridges in the region. The construction occurred in two phases: the central arch and an adjacent arch were built first, followed by the remaining 11 arches. The bridge's architecture is characterized by round, smooth stones and stone plates, adding to its visual appeal.Today, the Mesi Bridge attracts visitors with its historical significance and scenic surroundings. Although floods have caused damage over time, the Albanian Development Fund has invested in its preservation, ensuring safe access for tourists.
