    Lëkurësit Castle (Kalaja e Lëkurësit) is perched atop a strategic hill about 1 km southeast of Sarandë, offering commanding views of the town, the Straits of Corfu, and the islands of Ksamil. Built in 1537 by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent of the Ottoman Empire, the castle was constructed to protect the region from Venetian incursions. The castle held a garrison of 220 soldiers.The castle itself is almost square in shape, featuring two round towers at opposite corners. The best-preserved sections are the southern and eastern sides. Within the castle walls, a restaurant offers traditional Albanian cuisine with stunning vistas.Beyond its historical significance, Lëkurësit Castle provides breathtaking panoramic views. From its elevated position, visitors can see the entire city of Sarandë, the Ksamil Islands, and the Albanian Riviera.
