Getting There

    From the center of Berat, such as the Gorica Bridge, the castle is approximately a 1 km walk uphill. Start at the bridge and follow the road, Rruga Mihal Komena, which is a cobblestone path leading to the main entrance. The walk takes about 15-20 minutes at a moderate pace. Be prepared for a steep incline and uneven surfaces, so wear comfortable shoes. There is no cost for walking.

    Local buses run from the Berat bus terminal to the castle entrance. The bus terminal is located on the opposite side of the city. Inquire locally for the current bus schedule and confirm the route goes to the castle. A bus ticket costs approximately 1.5 EUR.

    Taxis are readily available in Berat and can take you directly to the castle entrance. A taxi ride from the city center will cost approximately 300-500 Lek.
