Walking
From the Old Bazaar, walk southeast on Rruga Gjin Zaho towards the Ethnographic Museum. Continue onto Rruga Shezai Çomo. Taverna Murgana will be on your left, a short walk from the Gjirokastër Castle entrance. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes. Be prepared for cobblestone streets and some uphill sections.
Public Transport
Local buses connect the new town to the old town. Take the bus line that goes to the Gjirokastër Castle and get off at the nearest stop to the castle entrance. From there, walk down Rruga Shezai Çomo; the Taverna Murgana will be on your left. Bus fare is approximately 30-50 Lek.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Gjirokastër. A taxi from the city center (e.g., the bus station) to Taverna Murgana will cost approximately 300-500 Lek. Ask the driver to take you to Taverna Murgana near the Gjirokastër Castle entrance. Confirm the fare before starting your journey.
Parking
If driving, be aware that parking in the Old Town can be challenging. There is limited free parking near the Gjirokastër Castle entrance, a short walk from Taverna Murgana. Alternatively, park in the underground parking garage at Çerçiz Square in the New Town and walk or take a taxi to the restaurant. The underground parking costs approximately 200 Lek for 3 hours.
