Getting There

Walking
From the center of Gjirokastër, begin your journey at the Gjirokastër Castle. Head southeast towards Rruga Ismail Qemali, which is the main street. Continue along Rruga Ismail Qemali for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Rruga Çameri. Turn left onto Rruga Çameri and walk straight for another 300 meters. You will see the Gjirokastër Obelisk on your right, situated in a small park area near the old bazaar. The obelisk is easily recognizable, standing tall and adorned with carvings, offering a beautiful view of the old town.

If you are starting from the Ethnographic Museum, exit the museum and head west towards Rruga Ismail Qemali. Turn right onto Rruga Ismail Qemali and walk for approximately 600 meters. When you reach the intersection with Rruga Çameri, turn left. The Gjirokastër Obelisk will be on your right after a short walk of about 300 meters, set in a pleasant green area.
