    Skënduli House is located in the Palorto neighborhood of Gjirokastër's old town. From Çerçiz Topulli Square, walk northeast along Rruga Fato Berberi, then turn right onto Rruga Palorto. The house will be on your left. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes. Be prepared for steep, cobbled streets.

    Gjirokastër has a public bus circuit that connects the old and new town. Take the bus from Bulevardi 18 Shtatori to Sheshi Çerçiz Topulli. From there, follow the walking directions to Skënduli House. A single bus fare costs around 30 lek.

The house boasts an impressive design with 64 windows, 44 doors, 12 rooms, and 9 fireplaces, reflecting the family's status and influence.Visitors are welcomed by Nasip Skënduli, a descendant of the original family, who shares captivating stories about the house and its history. The house provides a unique insight into 19th-century Albanian life, showcasing the customs, traditions, and daily routines of a prominent family. Many rooms are preserved in their original state, adorned with authentic objects and intricate wooden decorations.The house also served as the original Ethnographic Museum during the communist era before being returned to the Skënduli family. Its defensive features, including loopholes and sophisticated door locks, highlight its historical function. The main guest room, or oda, is particularly noteworthy for its decorated ceiling and wooden poles. A unique feature of the house is its two courtyards with both an internal and external staircase. According to the current owner, the house has not yet been restored by authorities, adding to its authenticity.
