Kune-Vain-Tale Reserve is a captivating nature park in Lezhë County, Albania, where the Drin River delta meets the Adriatic Sea. Encompassing 43.93 km², the reserve features diverse ecosystems, including lagoons, woodlands, and a stunning coastline.Originally established in the 1930s by King Zog I as a hunting ground, it became Albania's first protected area. The reserve was expanded in 2010 to include Kunë Island, the Kunë-Vain Lagoon, and surrounding woodlands. Today, Kune-Vain-Tale is recognized as an Important Bird Area, attracting ornithologists and nature lovers.The reserve boasts a rich biodiversity with approximately 277 plant species and 341 animal species. Birdwatchers can spot nearly 200 species, including flamingos and the endangered Ferruginous duck. The varied terrain includes beaches, reed beds, and forests, offering opportunities for hiking, cycling, and simply enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. Visitors can explore an extensive trail system, discover hidden gems, and observe local flora and fauna.
