The Folklore Museum of Acharavi, inaugurated in October 2008, stands as a testament to the dedication of Mr. Spyros Vlachos, who spent over 25 years collecting and preserving the cultural heritage of Northern Corfu. Housed in a 1,000 sq. m. building opposite the Roman Baths of Acharavi, the museum offers visitors a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience the traditions of Corfiot life. The museum's permanent collection is displayed in two rooms and features a wide array of exhibits, including : * Old photographs, books, and documents dating back to 1862 * Coins from the period of the Ionian State (1799-1864) * Local costumes from the 1800s * Traditional furniture and household items * Agricultural tools and traditional machines, such as looms and watermills * Recreations of traditional workshops, including an olive mill, carpentry, and shoemaking * Ecclesiastical items Beyond the exhibition halls, the museum also includes a conference room for educational programs and temporary exhibitions, a traditional café, and a shop selling local products and handicrafts.
