Mount Tomorr, located in the regions of Berat and Skrapar, is a majestic mountain that holds a special place in the hearts of Albanians. In Albanian folklore, it is anthropomorphized as Baba Tomor, an old giant with a long white beard, attended by four female eagles. The mountain has been associated with pre-Christian cults and is considered sacred by both Christians and Bektashi Muslims. Christians climb it on Assumption Day (August 15) to honor the Virgin Mary, while the Bektashi, a Sufi order, make an annual pilgrimage from August 20-25 to the shrine of Abbas Ali, a revered figure in their faith.
